Draw distance for players and NPCs in Vanilla was around yards as well in the open world. Draw distance in BFA should be 1 yard or less, else you might actually see it. It also really sucks to have nodes on your minimap phase out when you get close enough to collect them. I remember seeing people very far away as late as wotlk.
